Carney’s Care Worker Commitment

Canada’s healthcare support workers have given everything—through the pandemic, through staffing shortages, through burnout. And yet, too often, their commitment is met with empty words instead of real action.

At SEIU Healthcare, we believe words aren’t enough. That’s why we were the only union to demand a $1,100 Health Care Heroes Tax Credit—to recognize your essential work with something that actually helps: money in your pocket.

And the good news? The Liberal Party listened. They made the tax credit part of their platform through Carney’s Care Worker Commitment.

But a promise in a platform is not the same as a cheque in your hand.
It’s time to turn campaign commitments into budget results.

Together, we win.

Let’s remind Ottawa that care workers are watching—and organizing.
Because dignity means more than praise. It means policy that delivers.
